Take action: Help expand access to rehabilitative care
As our region has grown, so, too, has the need for high-quality inpatient rehabilitative care to help people regain their independence after life-changing illnesses and injuries.
That’s why Tidelands Health and Encompass Health are seeking state approval for Tidelands Health Rehabilitation Hospital at Carolina Bays in south Horry County. This new, 36-bed "hospital within a hospital" would be located within Tidelands Health Carolina Bays Hospital, which has already received certificate-of-need approval to be built at the interchange of Highways 31 and 707 in the Socastee area.
Pending state approval, Tidelands Health Rehabilitation Hospital at Carolina Bays will serve as a critical component of our region’s continuum of health care services by serving patients recovering from numerous conditions, including stroke and other neurological disorders, hip fractures, brain injury, spinal cord injury, amputation, complex orthopedic conditions and COVID-19.
Tidelands Health, an integrated network of more than 60 care locations across our region, and Encompass Health, the largest owner and operator of inpatient rehabilitation hospitals in the U.S., are the right choice to operate this new hospital.
We need your help. State regulators want to hear from residents of our community who support this needed hospital. Show your support by submitting an online letter, which we’ll collect and provide to South Carolina DHEC officials considering our certificate-of-need application for the new hospital.
